    An Ottawa woman injured in the deadly earthquake in Nepal has returned home safe.Faye Kennedy, 32, was trekking with friends near Kathmandu when the 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck. Family members did not hear from her for days, but Saturday, they welcomed her home at the Ottawa airport.A statement released by her family said she is grateful to be alive and among loved ones again.”She thanks social media users and news agencies for their coverage of the Langtang region which subsequently focused aid and rescue efforts of non-profit organizations, governments, and countless others,” the statement said. “Faye also thanks the Canadian government, parliamentarians and officials for their efforts, as well as fellow trekkers and the Nepalese people she encountered for their solidarity, kindness and help during this ordeal.”The family said she has been through a “very traumatic experience” and asked for time and space to begin her healing process.On Sunday, three people were pulled alive from the rubble of their home, Reuters reported.The death toll has reached 7,059, and the figure is likely to rise further, officials said.
