The United Democratic Madhesi Front and the ruling parties have agreed to take the constitution amendment process and the act of holding local level elections together above. In a meeting between senior leaders of both the sides held at the Prime Minister’s official residence on Tuesday, agreement was also reached to hold extensive deliberations to reach to a conclusion on the really make a difference. Senior leaders of the UDMF and the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress were available in the meeting. Talking to reporters following the meeting, NC leader and DPM Bimalendra Nidhi said the optimal Minister urged the Morcha to help with the announcement of the date of local elections, reasoning that preparations were being made to address the Morcha’s concern in the constitution amendment. The Prime minister also assured the Morcha of taking them into confidence on matter of both the constitution amendment and elections. Also discussed during the meeting was the process of amendment of the report among the local level restructuring commission. Likewise, President of Nepal Sadbhawana Party Anil Kumar Jha said though the front was positive towards holding of elections stress was laid on having the amendment to the constitution first and the want garner the required majority for it in the parliament.
